How Does Talsam Work?
Talsam is wearable technology that keeps you connected to loved ones, no matter where you are.
- Send a message with the Talsam app and make their charm vibrate and light up, letting them know you're thinking of them.
- They can share their location with you in the event of an emergency by pressing the button on their charm.
- You can communicate privately using the app and share secret messages, which must be unlocked using their charm, fingerprint, retina scan, or password.

How Do I Send Messages?
- You can send a text message by entering text in the space provided at the bottom of your Message Feed.
- You can send other messages by tapping on the diamond shaped icon at the bottom right of your Message Feed and choosing from one of the options.
- Following the instructions on the screen to send any of the available message options.

How Do I Send Secret Messages?
You can mark any of the following messages as secret: photos, videos, voice notes, and stylized quotes. To do so, set the Secret Message toggle at the top of the screen to the ON position before you send the message. It will now require the recipient to use two-factor authentication to unlock it.

How Do I Setup SOS Alerts?
- Go to your Settings by tapping on the icon at the top left of your screen.
- Tap on the SOS Alerts link in your charm control panel.
- Add an Emergency Contact by completing the form displayed.

How Do I Send An SOS Alert?
To send an SOS alert* with Talsam, simply press and hold the button on the charm for 5 seconds.
The charm will vibrate to let you know that the alert was sent. The emergency contact(s) specified in your account will receive a text message and email containing your location, along with an automated phone call.

What Is The Moment Stream?
The Moment Stream is an alternative view of your message feed in the Talsam app. You can tag incoming messages according to how they make you feel, choosing from one of five positive emotions: Amused, Happy, Loved, Optimistic, and Thankful.
Tagged messages are automatically added to your Moment Stream, with the associated emotion represented by a unique color and emoji. You can then browse old messages based on how they made you feel.
It’s a fun way to relive positive moments from the past without having to scroll endlessly through your phone.

What Are Animated Emojis?
Animated emojis are our take on the traditional emoji. We’ve applied our own style to the design of every emoji, elevating it to make it look more elegant and sophisticated than standard emojis. We also threw in the element of surprise by having the emoji animate from a collection of stars.

How Do I Pair A New Charm I Received As A Gift From A Loved One?
- Download the Talsam app from the App Store or Google Play.
- Switch on your charm and follow the instructions in the app to pair it.
- Once it's paired, you can create your account by following the instructions in the app.

How Do I Connect My Account To A Charm I Purchased For A Loved One?
- Download the Talsam app from the App Store or Google Play.
- You will need an Activation Code to create your account. If you have the charm packaging, scan the QR code on the back of the sleeve. If you had the product shipped directly to its recipient, open the Activation Code link you received on your smartphone.
- Create your account by following the instructions in the app.
- Record a Welcome Video for the recipient that gives them a surprise, personal introduction to Talsam.

How Do I Wear My Charm As A Bracelet?
The rings at either end of your charm are designed to latch onto one of our bracelets. Simply clip the bracelet clasps to either end of your charm and adjust the length of the bracelet chain using the logo disc.

How Do I Wear My Charm As A Necklace?
The rings at either end of your charm are designed to latch onto one of our necklaces. You can wear the charm horizontally on a necklace chain by clipping clasps to either end of your charm or you can wear it vertically by clipping both clasps to one of the charm rings. You can adjust the length of the necklace chain using the ball.

How Do I Charge My Charm?
Talsam contains a built-in USB-C® connector that you can plug into a power source, a computer, or even a smartphone. Talsam charms can be fully charged in less than 2 hours.

How Do I Setup Inactivity Protection?
You can set the Talsam mobile app to automatically lock after a certain amount of inactivity. Once it's locked, you need to use two-factor authentication to regain access to the app.
You can choose from a variety of authentication methods depending on your device. Using your Talsam password is a default method available to all customers. Customers with a charm can press its button to unlock messages. You can also use any of the biometric inputs available on your device, such as your fingerprint or facial recognition.- Go to your Settings by tapping on the icon at the top left of your screen.
- Tap on the Privacy link under Preferences.
- Select the authentication methods you would like to activate and specify an interval lockout period using the timeline displayed.

How Do I Unpair My Charm From My Device?
- Go to your Settings by tapping on the icon at the top left of your screen.
- Tap on the unlink icon in your charm control panel. Your charm is no longer associated with any connections.
- Tap on the '...' icon in your charm control panel, followed by Unpair.

How Do I Update My Charm Firmware?
- Go to your Settings by tapping on the icon at the top left of your screen.
- Tap on the peach banner that says Charm System Update Available.
- Make sure your charm is switched on and within 15 feet of your smartphone.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.

How Do I Perform A Factory Reset On My Charm?
- Press the button on your charm three times in quick succession and wait for the lights to flash three times.
- Press the button on your charm five times in quick succession and wait for the lights to flash five times.
- Press and hold the button on your charm for five seconds. The charm will vibrate and light up one more time to indicate that it has been reset.
- For iPhone users: Go to iOS Settings > Bluetooth > Talsam and tap "Forget This Device" before attempting to re-pair your charm.
- For Android users:
- Force stop the “‘Bluetooth Share process” by going into Settings > Apps > Under Running Apps
- Remove any Data that is cached in the process
- Go to your Bluetooth settings and select Talsam and tap “Forget Device.”
- Re-open the Talsam App and pair the device from the beginning.

How Do I Link Two Different Charms to The Same Connection?
To create a Connection between two people, who each have their own charm, each person would need to pair their charm to their own device.
The order we recommend you follow is:
1. Person A creates an account by tapping "I Have a Charm" in the app
2. Person A invites Person B to connect by tapping "Invite A Loved One" in their Settings
3. Person B creates an account by accepting the invitation
4. Person B clicks "Add Charm" in their Connection with Person A to pair their charm -
What Are Quick Status Messages?
A Quick Status Message is a short, automated message you can send your loved one by pressing the button on your charm.
To send a Quick Status Message:
- Put your charm in Broadcast Mode by tapping the button twice
- The charm will vibrate to confirm you're in Broadcast Mode
- Tap once to send "I'm busy"
- Tap twice to send "I miss you"
- Tap three times to send "Call me"
- Tap four times or do nothing for 10 seconds to exit Broadcast Mode

How do I unpair my charm from an iPhone?
After disconnecting and unpairing your charm in the Talsam app, go to iOS Settings > Bluetooth, tap on the 'i' icon next to Talsam, and tap on 'Forget This Device.'
This will allow you to re-pair your charm with the same iOS device in the future.
